At 3 in the morning, high on petrol, they crept up and broke into our Toyota before pushing it several hundred meters away to hot wire it. On a back road, 15 kilometres out of Balgo, the boxes of prints were pushed out to make more room. Then a 1500 kilometer overland rampage until they were apprehended near Derby. According to the tracker who found the prints another car, 12 hours later, had made off with a missing box. This was found by the police (who bogged retrieving it, needed further help) 3 days and 800 kilometres away at Mary River. Amazingly most of the prints were returned including some from the bottom of the river some 2 weeks later. BACK NEXT
